

The name of the coin comes from Fujisawa and Yoshida Jima, which are place names. A coin mint was established in Ashikaga Kamigun, Kanagawa Prefecture.
It is said that coin minting began in December of the 4th year of the Genbun era, but this is not confirmed.
There are several such unconfirmed coins in the new Kan’ei Tsuho series.
This page references “Anasen Nyumon Kanei Tsuho – new Kan’ei Tsuho -,” so we introduce it as the Fujisawa-YoshidaJima coin.

The characters on the Kan’ei Tsūhō coins are smaller. According to the old theory, the “Shukuji characters” are said to be Yoshida-jima.
