5 Yen Variety Long and Short 1994 Japanese Current Coins

This is an introductory page regarding the variety of 5 yen coins in general circulation in Japan.These coins were issued in the same year (1994). However, there are some slight differences. The length of the horizontal bar indicated by the red arrow differs. On the top coin, the line starts almost directly beneath the Chinese numeral ‘五’, whereas on the bottom coin, there is a slight gap before the line begins.
