This coin was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the National Park System.

The 13th coin in the series features Mt. Daisen and Daisen Japanese yew.

Mt Daisen, located in Tottori Prefecture, is the highest peak in the Chugoku region, standing at an elevation of 1,709 meters. Known as one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains and also nicknamed “Hōki Fuji,” it offers visitors the chance to enjoy its rich natural surroundings and beautiful scenery.

Daisen Japanese yew(Daisen Karaboku) is an evergreen coniferous shrub of the yew family that grows abundantly on Mount Daisen in Tottori Prefecture. It is designated as a National Special Natural Monument and serves as the prefectural tree of Tottori Prefecture.
