JNDA#03-2

The 1964 Tokyo Olympics Commemorative 100-Yen Silver Coin was issued to commemorate the Tokyo Olympics, which were held in Japan for the first time in 1964.
Because 80 million of these 100-yen silver coins were minted, they are relatively easy to obtain.
Along with the 1,000-yen silver coin, it was one of the first commemorative coins issued in Japan, and it is said that most of them ended up in the hands of the Japanese public.
The obverse of the coin features the Olympic rings above the Olympic cauldron. The reverse features a design of the number 100 superimposed on the sun.
