The Toyama Prefecture coin depicts the Tateyama Mountain Range as seen from the Amaharashi Coast across Toyama Bay.

Tateyama Mountain Range
The Tateyama Mountain Range consists of Mt. Oyama (3,003 m) and Mt. O-Nayama (3,015 m), as well as other mountains such as Mt. Tsurugi (2,999 m) and Mt. Yakushi (2,926 m). It is Toyama Prefecture’s most representative mountain and attracts many climbers.
Amaharashi Coast
This is Toyama Prefecture’s most representative scenic spot, located in Takaoka City. From here, you can see mountains over 3,000 meters high across the sea.
The name “Amaharashi” is based on a legend that Minamoto no Yoshitsune waited for a sudden rain to clear up while fleeing to Oshu.
