The 50th Anniversary of the Shinkansen (Tokaido Shinkansen) 100 yen Clad Coin Japanese Commemorative Coins

This 100 yen coin was issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Shinkansen bullet train line in Japan.
The front of the coin depicts the Tokaido Shinkansen東海道 (N700A).
The Tokaido Shinkansen is a high-speed railroad connecting Tokyo Station to Shin-Osaka Station.
It opened in 1964 as the world’s first high-speed railroad.
There are a total of nine types of 100 yen coins commemorating the opening of the Shinkansen.
The number of coins issued to commemorate the Tokaido Shinkansen is 2,324,000.
